It’s very Asian. Probably beats our practice here, of not naming Halls at all. A hall would be euphemistically known as ‘That hall by the Buzz Cafe’ or ‘The Main Drag’. Lecture Rooms would be D32 (D-Block, room 32) or similar. Very boring.
University buildings have names in Canada. Usually they are named after people involved with the founding of the university or people who donated a lot of money, books, etc. But I think as students we usually just called them “The Science Building”, “The Liberal Arts Building” and so on. I don’t think classrooms had names. 101, 305, and so on. Rooms don’t have names at this university either.
